Tomorrow, November 18, 2014, is "Grace of Yes Day!"
My friend Lisa Hendey’s new book is making quite a splash. And for good reason. Lisa M. Hendey is a popular Catholic author, blogger, speaker, and the founder of CatholicMom.com, one of my favorite online resources for all things Catholic. Her new book, The Grace of Yes: Eight Virtues for Generous Living, is an invitation to embrace the joy of generous living.
And here’s some exciting news: tomorrow has been designated as the Grace of Yes Day, and you are invited to participate!
Lisa M. Hendey is inviting people to embrace generous living during Grace of Yes Day tomorrow, November 18, 2014. The special day is an outgrowth of Hendey’s new book, The Grace of Yes, published by Ave Maria Press.
In her book, Hendey uses her own faith story to encourage others to see how they can say yes to God in their lives. She explores eight spiritual virtues that are the foundation of Christian faith – belief, generativity, creativity, integrity, humility, vulnerability, saying no, and starting over. Hendey shows how these virtues lead to generous living and the ability to joyously say yes to God.
Whether it’s donating to a charity, volunteering, helping a neighbor or relative, feeding the homeless, or trying to be more intentionally positive, Hendey wants participants to reflect on one or more of the virtues and then say “yes.”
“‘No’ is safe. ‘No’ is simple. But ‘no’ isn’t always the right answer. Lisa Hendey’s The Grace of Yes teaches, challenges, and encourages us how to say yes to God and others. Should you read this book? Yes! And God’s grace will work within you.” – Lino Rulli, Host of The Catholic Guy
Tomorrow, participants are encouraged to share their “yes” stories on Facebook and Twitter using the hashtag #graceofyesday. Special resources, including printable “I said yes to…” signs, are available at http://avemariapress.com/graceofyesday/. Participants can personalize the signs with their “yes” and post a photo on social media.
