What Not To Eat
I just got back from lunch duty. And you’re not going to believe what I saw. Take a good look at this picture.
Look again.
What do you see?
Can you recognize all the items on that plate?
I’d love to tell you what I see… but I’m afraid it wouldn’t be very nice. I can tell you what I don’t see. I don’t see real food.
I honestly can’t believe that schools feed this stuff to our children. I also can’t believe that our children eat it.
Do you think that there is even one single real ingredient in that food? Well, maybe the corn. And the rice. But those are probably processed to death.
What about that pizza? Does it even look like pizza? And what about the fries?
I am willing to bet that those fries are even worse than the ones at McDonald’s. Not worse tasting (because they are laden with chemicals), but worse for you.
I do apologize for this rant. It’s just that I am shocked at how bad this food really is. And the smell! Yuck!
I wonder what Kelly the Kitchen Kop has to say about this.
Hey, Kelly! What do you think? Real Food Wednesday is tomorrow (and I am so glad that you organize that day!). Do you think that we can ever get real food into our school cafeterias?
And what do YOU think?
Should we be satisfied with the “food” that is served to our children in school?
